Response – action performed by an effector

A response is any action performed by an effector arising from a signal from the nervous system.

A response is a performance of a muscle or gland from an effector such as a muscle movement

The Rapid Response vehicle was drive by Action Man.

Responses usually take the form of a muscle contracting or relaxing to allow movement, or a gland contracting to release a hormone into the blood or digestive system.

NOTE:

That responses can happen both consciously (somatic) or without any thought (autonomic). Many body controls and functions are taken care of autonomically.
