Positive and negative tropism

Tropism can be called positive or negative. Positive tropism is movement or growth towards a stimulus, whereas negative tropism is the movement or growth away from a stimulus.

Positive tropism is too a stimulus and negative is away from a stimulus

The victorious plants looked positively (positive) ecstatic in their photos after they won two awards (towards), while the other nominees looked very negative about the ceremony since they had to walk away empty handed.

Example

The stimulus is gravity

Image of a plant both the roots and the stem showing positive and negative tropism to gravity
