Transposing – To change the pitch of a musical piece up or down while keeping the space between the notes the same

(Pronounced tran-spohs)

To remember what transpose means, use the following mnemonic:

Transport your posies (transpose) to the window display you can move them up or down, but keep the space between them the same.
