Nucleus

The nucleus is very small but heavy and is found in the middle of an atom. It contains a number of protons and neutrons. Because it contains protons, it is positively charged.

A nucleus is the centre structure of an atom and contains protons and neutrons which gives the nucleus a positive charge
Think of a group of newts (neutrons) playing basketball with a group of peas (protons). You can't play with an electronic robot (electron) because they are too accurate. So the only ones playing in the middle of the game are the newts and the peas.
