Oregon – Oregon's capital is Salem

(Pronounced awr-i-guhn and sey-luhm)

NOTE:

The name 'Salem' is closely associated with the infamous witch trials of the late 17th Century. Although the trials were in Salem, Massachusetts, this is still a way of remembering Salem, Oregon.

The oars had gone (Oregon) because the Salem witches were using them for their rides.
