Cadence – The regular rise and fall of sound be it voice or music
(pronounced Kay-dense)
To remember the definition of the word cadence, use the following mnemonic:
The cane dance (cadence) was performed to the rise and fall of the music.

When my son gets excited, he speaks in a rapid cadence.
As Jill listened to the rain’s cadence on her roof, she lost herself in romantic daydreams.
