Empathy – Ability to understand and share other people's feelings

To remember the definition of the word empathy, use the following mnemonic:
The emperor walked down the path (empathy). He felt great. The crowd were happy too, they understood and shared his feelings.
Examples of empathy in a sentence
Bart has a hard time forming healthy relationships because he lacks empathy.
As a parent, I can only feel a great deal of empathy for mothers who lose their children.
Our boss felt no empathy at all towards anyone.
