Macbeth Plotting Death (Act 3, Scene 1)

The scene concludes with Macbeth finalising the plan, emphasising the need for Fleance's death as well.

Banquo reflects on Macbeth's recent rise to power and the witches' prophecy, suspecting foul play. Macbeth, now king, invites Banquo to a royal feast. Banquo agrees but plans an afternoon ride with his son Fleance, promising to return. Macbeth is troubled by the prophecy that Banquo's descendants will be kings. Macbeth manipulates two men to murder Banquo.  He convinces them that Banquo is their enemy who has caused them all their terrible hardships.  The scene concludes with Macbeth finalising the plan, emphasising the need for Fleance's death as well.
