Entrance – l'entrée

(Pronounced on-tray)

To remember that Entrance is pronounced on-tray (entrée) in French, use the following mnemonic:

The star of the show made her grand entrance... on a tray! (entrée).

Entrée is feminine, so it's la entrée, but because that would mean two vowel sounds together, it is spelt l'entrée. Imagine our labrador making an entrance after rolling in mud.
