Karate – le karaté

(Pronounced ka-ra-tay)

To remember that Karate is pronounced ka-ra-tay (karaté) in French, use the following mnemonic:

She was so good at karate she could kick as high as the Eiffel Tower.

Karaté is masculine, so it's le karaté. Imagine the early learner being beaten up at karate.
