me – moi

(Pronounced mwa)

To remember that me is pronounced mwa (moi) in French, use the following mnemonic.

Another passenger shouted "excuse me!" at the couple making loud mwa (moi) noises as they kissed in the quiet carriage of the train.

Note: The French have several words for me: me, m' and moi. Which one you need to use depends on how it is used. 

The French use moi following a preposition or when making an exclamation. 

For example:  

"Is it for me?" is "C'est pour moi?"

"You're after me" is "Vous ētes après moi"

"Look at me!" is "Regarde-moi!"

"Wait for me!" is "Attends-moi!"
