Shop – le magasin
(Pronounced mag-ah-zan (the "n" is barely sounded))
To remember that Shop is pronounced mag-ah-zan (magasin) in French, use the following mnemonic:
She forgot her list when she went to the shop, so all she came back with was a magazine and a sandwich (magasin).
Magasin is masculine, so it's le magasin. Imagine our early learner working in a shop:
