then (after that) – ensuite
(Pronounced on-sweet)
To remember that then is pronounced on-sweet (ensuite) in French, use the following mnemonic.
If you eat too much curry then you will be glad of having an ensuite (ensuite) next to your bed.

Note: The French have several words for then: puis, alors and ensuite. Which one you use depends on how it is used. The French use "ensuite" to mean "after that" but unlike puis, ensuite can be used at the end of a sentence. For example, ensuite would be used if you wanted to say "What did he do then?" or "I did my homework then went out with my friends".
