Molasses – A thick, dark-brown liquid that is produced during the process of making sugar
(Pronounced muh-las-iz)
To remember the definition of the word molasses, use the following mnemonic:
A mole with glasses (molasses) loved having the dark-brown liquid poured from the sugar cane.
Note: To make molasses, sugar cane is harvested, crushed and mashed. Molasses is the concentrated juice after boiling.
