January – le janvier

(Pronounced jhon-vee-ay)

The janitor (January) had to dig out the car after sun shone brightly on the snow and caused the driver to veer (janvier) out of control.

Please also note that the months of the year in French do NOT start with a capital letter, so it’s janvier, NOT Janvier.

The months of the year in French are all masculine, so it’s le janvier, le février, le mars, le avril, le mai, le juin, le juillet, l’août, le septembre, l’octobre, le novembre and le decembre.
