Sister – la soeur

(Pronounced sir)

To remember that Sister is pronounced sir (soeur) in French, use the following mnemonic:

My sister dressed up as a man – people called her sir (soeur).

My sister dressed up as a man – people called her sir (soeur).

Of course, soeur is feminine, so it’s la soeur. It’s so obvious that soeur is feminine that we don’t need our Labrador to remind you!
