Mammoth Memory

Father – le père

(Pronounced pehr (like "pair" in English))

To remember that Father is pronounced pehr (père) in French, use the following mnemonic:

My father is one of a pair – he has an identical twin brother.

My father is one of a pair – he has an identical twin brother.

Of course, père is masculine, so it’s le père. It’s so obvious that père is masculine that there’s no need for a picture to remind you!
