Lever System – A rigid bar that moves on a fixed point called a fulcrum when a force is applied to it
(Pronounced leh-vuh sis-tums)
Note: In a human body the rigid bar would be a bone.
Despite using the lever on the toilet cistern, the toilet wouldn't empty (lever system). I could apply the force through the pivot point (the fulcrum) but the rigid bar was broken and so the plunger (load) couldn't be pulled up.
