The structure of the earth

The structure of the earth is made up of three parts: the core, mantle and crust. The centre of the earth is the core, which is surrounded by a layer called the mantle. The top layer of the earth is the crust.

The earths structure is made up of three main parts, the crust the mantle and the core.

Try to recall the following picture to help you recall the three main parts of the earth which are core, mantle and crust:

There are 3 main structures of the earth, the core which is as hot as the surface of the sun, then the mantle which is 70% of the earths structure and the crust which is the ground we stand on, an average of 30km thick
The crust from a slice of bread is surrounding a mantelpiece (mantle) whilst an apple core burns underneath.
