Compounds

A compound is a substance made up of different types and numbers of atoms, all chemically bonded together. Examples of compounds are H2O and NaCl, but not O2.

Compounds are made up of atoms of more than one type of element

Note: Molecules are simply two or more atoms held together by chemical bonds. Compounds are a specific type of molecule where the atoms are from different elements.
