How to learn poems – mnemonics
You have to practise poems to get them into your head.
But the hardest part is starting them, and joining them from one line to another.
We use mnemonics – or linking pictures.
Link pictures together to remember poems.
We believe the best way to learn a poem is to learn:
The title
The start of the first line
The end of the first line linked to the beginning of second line
The end of the second line linked to the beginning of the third line
….and so on right through to the end of the poem.
You must practise each line.
