Note: "Ta ta" is British dialect for goodbye.

You said ta ta (Utah) to my old grandma (Omaha) as you ran across the golden (Gold) dunes (Juno) to play sword (Sword) fights with your friends.

You said ta ta (Utah) to my old grandma (Omaha) as you ran across the golden (Gold) dunes (Juno) to play sword (Sword) fights with your friends.

The beaches on D-Day were five code-named locations along the Normandy coast of France: Utah and Omaha (American landings), Gold (British landings), Juno (Canadian landings), and Sword (British landings). These landing zones, part of Operation Overlord were the sites of the largest amphibious military operation in history.
