Toward/towards – hacia

To remember that toward is pronounced ah-thyah (hacia) in European Spanish, use the following mnemonic:

Note: The only difference between toward and towards is the "s". They both mean the same thing, i.e., in the direction of. Toward is preferred in the U.S, while towards is usually used in the UK.
