Garlic – l'ail

(Pronounced eye-yuh)

"That man has garlic for an eye!" I had to look it up on yahoo (ail) to find out what the disease was.

Ail is masculine, but as it begins with a vowel it's l'ail. So imagine the early learner with garlic over his eyes.
