Difference Between Plant and Animal Cells
Another method to remember the difference between plant and animal cells and that plants have three more organelles i.e.
- Vacuole
- Cell walls
- Chloroplasts
Vacuole
You will never see a vacuum (vacuole) in my brothers hand and that's a great way to remember vacuoles are missing from humans.
Plants have vacuoles in addition
Cell walls
We can use logic on this mnemonic to remember cell walls are not in human cells.
Humans have cell strength because they attach themselves to a skeleton.
The cells in plants do not have skeletons. In order to grow tall they therefore need something else to help build on so they have cell walls.
Plants have cell walls in addition in order to grow high
Chloroplasts
Claw away at the plasters (chloroplasts) and the plasters are green.
Humans are not green and so chloroplasts are not in animals.
Plants have chloroplasts in addition
