Acids Alkalis Bases Salts 

This section is about acids, alkalis and bases. It has nothing to do with alkali metals or alkaline earth metals.

Chemists got together in 1925 and, to show how clever they were, decided to confuse people by using similar words across different areas of chemistry that have nothing to do with each other.
