Iron (griddle) – la plancha
(Pronounced plahn-chah)
To remember that iron is pronounced plahn-chah (plancha) in Spanish, use the following mnemonic:
Note: You will often see food on a menu described as "a la plancha" meaning "cooked on the griddle".
Iron Man was outside cooking a barbecue on a large griddle. Lots of meat was being cooked because he planned to have a big charity (plancha) event.
Plancha is feminine, so it's la plancha. Imagine a lady pushing Iron Man away from the griddle and taking over the cooking because he is burning everything.
