Adrenaline – A natural hormone released to speed the heart rate up and prepare the body for intense, stressful or dangerous situations
(Pronounced uh-dreh-nuh-lin)
To remember what adrenaline means use the following mnemonic:
A cold drenching has a direct link (adrenaline) to a sudden speeding up of the heart, and naturally, the horse moaned (hormone) too.
Adrenaline is produced in the adrenal gland positioned on top of each kidney.
