linking guilt to quotations in Macbeth
To remember all the quotations you need for your exam when the theme is "guilt" use the following mnemonic:
First create a key image for "guilt". One way to remember "guilt" is the mnemonic of someone dragging a big stone that represents guilt.

Now create a single rememberable image for each of the quotations in Macbeth that relate to "guilt": As a first stage we will reference three quotations
Quotation 1
"I am in blood, stepp'd in so far that should I wade no more, returning were as tedious as go'er." Macbeth is overwhelmed by guilt but continues down the path of destruction.
This quotation can be remembered with the single picture of "I am in blood".

Quotation 2
"A little water clears us of this deed."
Lady Macbeth states that water can remove guilt.
This quotation can be remembered with the single picture of somebody "hosing down" all the blood.

Quotation 3
"All the perfumes of Arabia will not sweeten this little hand." This scene shows how guilt has broken her mind.
This quotation can be remembered with the single picture of "pouring perfume" on the stain.

Now link all of the above images together
Link guilt to, "I am in blood," everything covered in blood to, "hosing down," clearing up the deed with water to, "pouring perfume," all the perfumes.
We know that Macbeth is guilty because we can bee him pulling a guilty stone and everything is covered in blood.

Lady Macbeth tries to hose down all of the blood.

That doesn't work so she then tries to hide the stain by pouring all the perfumes of Arabia on it.

You now three quotations from your stock of quotations you learnt that are linked to "guilt". If you want more you can extend the story.
