Capital – el / la capital

(Pronounced kah-pee-tahl)

Note: It's 'el capital' when referring to monetary capital and 'la capital'  when referring to a capital city.

Note 2: The bull is a Spanish icon, and whenever you see it in one of our images, it means the word is basically the same in both English and Spanish.

To remember that capital is pronounced kah-pee-tahl (capital) in Spanish, use the following mnemonic:

The bull invested all its capital in the capital city's regeneration fund, but never got a penny in return.
