Rational Number

A rational number is any number that can be written as a simple fraction.

Rational = Ratio
OR
Rational = Fractional

Example 1

 `4/7` is a ratio and therefore a rational number.                                   

 

Example 2

0.37 is a rational number because it can be written as `37/100` , which is a ratio.
