Mean, median, mode and range

Another way to remember the difference between the mean, median, mode and range, use the following mnemonic:

Sing the nursery rhyme; "Hey diddle diddle, the cat and the fiddle."

i.e. Hey diddle diddle, the cat and the fiddle,
the cow jumped over the moon.
The little dog laughed to see such fun,
and the dish ran away with the spoon.

But sing the song using these words:

Hey diddle diddle, the median's the middle,
you add and divide for the mean.
The mode is the one that you see the most,
and the range is the difference between.
