A Guitarists Perspective or View
Below is what you see as an audience when a guitarist plays.
It is really important to realise what you see of the guitar while playing is different from the view point above. A guitarist looking from above at the guitar will see the strings upside down - see below:
In more detail the guitar would look like this:
Notice how the pickguard is the other way up now.
From now on all demonstrations of the note positions on a guitar fretboard will be shown from the guitarists point of view looking over and down the neck.
