Con Sordino – played with a mute on the instrument
(Pronounced kon sor-dee-no)
(Note: A mute is a device attached to a musical instrument which lowers its volume)
To remember what con sordino means use the following mnemonic:
The concert I saw was deemed inaudible. No (con sordino) one could hear at the back because they were playing with mutes.
