Key signatures – Flats and naming the major flat key

If in an exam you are shown sheet music and asked what flat key signature it is in, you can answer by following this rule:

LOOK AT THE LAST FLAT LISTED AND GO DOWN ONE FLAT AND IT TELLS YOU

You can remember this by recalling:

IF YOU FALL FLAT, YOU HAVE GONE DOWN

Note: The F in this case is just a major problem. It's the only one that doesn't work so F is just a major (F major) problem.
