Action initiated in the cerebral cortex of the brain; a deliberate, conscious action such as standing up or walking.A voluntary action is an action that the brain initiates, something that needs a bit of thinking before doing it

After some thought, the young men raised their arms to volunteer for action (voluntary action). They had deliberated (deliberate) the risks and were fully conscious of what they were doing.

A voluntary action is an action that you initiate yourself through your own thought. The action is under the control of your will.

Examples

Running, walking, eating, jumping.

Running, jumping, eating, walking are all voluntary actions by the brain but these have to be learned first
Jumping is a voluntary action.
