Peripheral nervous system (PNS) – outside the brain and spinal cord
The peripheral nervous system is the network of nerves outside the brain and spinal cord, which connects the CNS to organs, limbs and outer parts of the body.
The role of the PNS
Your peripheral nervous system comprises all the nerves and nerve cells outside your central nervous system. Its job is to relay information from your body to your brain and spinal cord, and from your brain and spinal cord to your body.
