The liver – the highwayman’s story

The liver is a very important organ with many, many functions. It is responsible for producing bile used in digestion.

 The liver produces bile, cholesterol, breaks sugars down and burns fat

Stand and deliver (the liver) – the highwayman has stolen a lot of money.

The liver regulates chemical levels in the blood and produces a product called bile. Bile helps break down fat, preparing them for digestion and absorption.

The pancreas produces digestive enzymes.
