You can see previously that:

Anatomical - relating to the study of the structure of the body

Plane - Flat surface through which the direction of movement occurs

So, anatomical plan combines these to mean:

The imaginary flat surface through which the direction of movement occurs through a body.

As you can see there are three types of anatomical body plans which we will be discussing next.
