Planes of Movement
All body movements occur on a plane; which is an imaginary flat surface running through the body. Each plane indicates the direction of movement.
The three types of plane are: sagittal (forwards and backwards movement); frontal (left or right movement) and transverse (rotational and twisting movement) around the longitudinal axis.
These planes can be simplified into directional arrows.
