Transverse Plane – the transverse plane is the rotational and twisting movements around the longitudinal axis
(Pronounced trans-vuhs)
To remember what the transverse plane is, recall the following mnemonic:
She transported herself through the universe (transverse) in a rotating UFO.
This is the transverse plane below.
So the transverse plane spins or rotates around the centre (the longitudinal axis). This can be simplified with directional arrows.
