Conjunctiva
The conjunctiva is a thin, clear mucus membrane that covers the front portion of the sclera, the cornea and the inside of the eyelids. It provides some protection to the eye, but its main function is to provide lubrication.
The conjurer made a load of junk (conjunctiva) disappear before a well-lubricated audience.
The conjunctiva lubricates the eye, making it shiny and reflective.
