Lens shape

When a lens is tall and thin you can see long distances. When is it short and fat you can see short distances.

When the lens is short and wide you can see short distances, if it is long and thin is for longer distances

Long distances can be seen when the lens is long and thin

Because the woman was tall (and thin), she could take a picture of her favourite movie star from the back of the crowd and her lens could see a long way.

Short distances can be seen when the lens is short and wide

Short-sighted – can focus at short distances when the lens is short and fat.

When the lens is shaped for short sighting the long distances will seem blurred because the image on the retina is bigger also the lens can only be shaped for longer or shorter and not both

How focusing works in an eye.
