Aerobic exercise is the most efficient way to release energy to the muscles

Glucose + oxygen  →  carbon dioxide + water + energy

Aerobic exercise is also known as cardiovascular exercise or cardio exercise. 

Aerobic exercise:

  • Increases stamina
  • Lowers blood pressure 
  • Improves cardiovascular health
  • Improves mood
  • Improves sleep
  • Stimulates the immune system

 

Aerobic exercise examples:

  • Brisk walking
  • Long distance cycling 
  • Long distance swimming
