Intrinsic (feedback) – The physical feel of the movement as it is being performed; what is felt by the performer
(Pronounced in-trin-zik)
The performer's thoughts on their performance are crucial to their mental and emotional approach to sport. Intrinsic feedback can be unquantifiable, and therefore not presented to trainers or coaches. At the same time, intrinsic feedback can also inform the plans of both the player and their coach in terms of tactics. For example, a footballer noticing a weakness in the oppositions defence, relaying this information to the managers and enacting a special tactic to exploit this.
