Comma – two easy meanings
Two of the comma’s uses are easy to remember:
1. Commas must be used when listing things, otherwise there can be great confusion. For instance:
At the beach today we have parachuting horses and zorbing.
The above should read:
At the beach today we have parachuting, horses and zorbing.
2. Commas are used to set off quoted words.
“I think it is a great idea,” said Clark.
