Make three lists
In the language features and presentational features part of an English language exam, you should make three lists before you open the exam paper.
LIST 1: LANGUAGE FEATURES
- Pretending
- Sound
- Persuasion
- Speech
LIST 2: PRESENTATIONAL FEATURES
- Text
- Pictures
- Colours
- Layout
LIST 3: EFFECTS OF LANGUAGE OR PRESENTATIONAL FEATURE
- Understand
- Sense
- Respond
- Memory
NOTE:
“Write the lists out? Really?” Yes, really!
You should be able to find at least some of these features in the sources provided, and experience the effects they have on you.
The following pages explain how this works.
