Falsetto – A method of singing used by males to sing higher notes than their highest normal singing voice
(Pronounced fawl-seh-tow)
Note: Falsetto is often translated as "false voice".
To remember what falsetto means, use the following mnemonic:
Wearing false hair and stiletto (falsetto) heels, the man joined a girl group and sang higher than the normal male vocal register.
Examples of falsetto in a sentence
The man sung in a falsetto in order to reach the high notes.
The singer had an excellent falsetto.
