Groove – Refers to a rhythm that deviates from the straight beat of the music
(Pronounced groov)
To help remember what groove means, use the following mnemonic:
Note: Groove has to do with taking a strict metronomic beat and then striking certain notes slightly ahead, or slightly behind, the strict metronomic beat.
When carving a groove (groove) into the wood, I deviated from the straight line.
