3. Pronoun – used in place of a noun

Pronoun – Couldn't pronounce (pronoun) so used it, her, him

To avoid having to repeat nouns all the time, once it’s clear who or what you’re talking about, you can use:

He, she, it, this, yours, you, we, they, them, mine, me

and a host of other pronouns that help avoid tedious repetition.

A pronoun is a word used to take away repetition 

There were some people’s names that even the announcer couldn’t pronounce (pronouns). 

To remember different pronouns that the announcer used because she couldn’t pronounce the real names, see below:

It is a pronoun

I don’t know how to pronounce the name – call it “It”.

 Her is a pronoun

I don’t know how to pronounce the name – call it “Her”.

Him is a pronoun 

I don’t know how to pronounce the name – call it “Him”!
